Autumn is a fantastic time for sea fishing on Norway’s west coast. There are great opportunities to catch both cod and saithe, and as the season progresses, your chances of landing a really big fish increase.
With First Camp Bud as your starting point, you have several options depending on the weather and conditions. On calm days, you can head out onto Hustadvika, while Romsdalsfjorden offers excellent fishing when the wind picks up. The right equipment makes a great fishing experience even better. At reception, you’ll find our fishing shop with a good selection of equipment from well-known brands – whether you’re heading out to sea or trying your luck from shore. You’ll find fishing rods, lures, hooks, jigs, pilkers and other essentials for your fishing trip.
And you don’t need a boat to get a bite. Cast your line from the pier, find a good spot on the rocks or head to the Atlantic Ocean Road and try your luck from the fishing bridge.
Even the youngest guests can join in the fun. Crab fishing from the jetty is an easy and exciting activity that can quickly become one of the highlights of the holiday. Of course, we also have equipment for children, including small fishing rods, nets, buckets and everything they need for crab fishing.

We want to protect the sea and its fantastic fishing opportunities for future generations. As a registered tourist fishing business, we follow Norway’s current sea fishing regulations, report catches and make sure our guests receive all the information they need.
If you want to take fish out of Norway, we can help you with the necessary documentation. Our guides are also happy to share advice on how to handle your catch to preserve the best possible quality. For vulnerable fish species, we practise catch and release, allowing the fish to be returned safely to the sea.
