Winter adventures in the mountains
When Beitostølen is blanketed in fresh snow, the area transforms into a true winter wonderland. Here you’ll find one of the best cross-country trail networks in the Nordics, with miles of groomed tracks stretching into the mountains. For downhill enthusiasts, Beitostølen Ski Center offers great slopes and modern lift systems – ideal for the whole family.
Just a few kilometers away awaits Raudalen Ski Center, with steeper runs for those craving extra speed and excitement. If you want to experience winter in a more unique way, join a dog sledding tour, take a magical horse-drawn sleigh ride, or enjoy a peaceful outing to beautiful Lake Bygdin – a mountain moment you’ll never forget.
Summer and mountain activities
When summer arrives, Beitostølen comes alive with lush landscapes, sparkling lakes, and crisp mountain air. Outdoor lovers will find endless opportunities: hike to Melbyfjellet and Knausehøgda, or explore smaller peaks starting right from the campsite. There are also great cycling trails throughout the area. Try the spectacular Synshorn Via Ferrata, go horseback riding in the mountains, or feel nature’s power up close with rafting in the Sjoa River.

Fishing enthusiasts will discover an abundance of idyllic mountain lakes teeming with trout — and nothing tastes better than a self-caught mountain fish after a long day outdoors.
On the campsite itself, you’ll find plenty of fun activities for the whole family. Kids can play freely on the playground while the rest of the family competes in a round of mini golf or a game of outdoor chess. Perfect for sunny summer days filled with relaxation, fun, and play. Pet-Friendly
Pets are of course welcome, but must always be kept on a leash.
Heating in Cabins
Heating is controlled via thermostats on the radiators in cabins/apartments. If it feels too warm, lower the thermostat instead of opening windows – otherwise the system will increase the heat.
Do not turn off heating or the refrigerator upon check-out. Temperatures can drop quickly in the mountains and may cause frost damage to pipes, even in summer. Please ask us at the reception if you are unsure.
Public Transport
The nearest bus stop is Stølslie, just about 50 metres from the campsite. If travelling by train, go to Fagernes Skysstasjon and continue by bus to Stølslie.
