Björkäng – Varberg

Welcome to First Camp Björkäng – Varberg, a family-friendly campsite with a unique and peaceful seaside location between two nature reserves. Here, nature, coastal walks, and beautiful sunsets create the perfect holiday atmosphere. Stay close to the sea, with Varberg’s shallow sandy beaches nearby and nature always within reach.

 

Whether you’re traveling with a caravan, motorhome, tent, or staying in a cabin, you’ll enjoy spacious pitches and open areas for relaxation, play, and togetherness. The campsite is perfectly located between Varberg and Falkenberg, making it easy to explore the best of Halland. Take a bike ride along the coast, stroll through Varberg’s charming town center, or enjoy a summer evening in Falkenberg – perhaps with pizza at Lilla Napoli and live music at Vallarna. Right next to the campsite, you’ll also find the popular Kattegattleden cycling route stretching from Gothenburg to Helsingborg.

 

During weeks 27–32, we offer a fun-filled activity program for the whole family, including kids’ club activities, games, live music, and quiz nights – perfect for long summer evenings.

 

Fishing enthusiasts will find plenty of opportunities nearby, from sea fishing close to the campsite to the popular salmon fishing in the Ätran river in Falkenberg. You can even book a fishing trip with Fladen Fisketurer for a day at sea. Feel free to ask us at reception – we’re happy to help. Four-legged family members are welcome too, with lovely walking paths and plenty of space to explore. Whether you’re looking for peace and nature or family fun and activities, there’s something here for everyone.

Waste & Recycling
At First Camp, we actively work towards a better environment, and we hope you’ll join us in doing the same. At our waste stations, we sort items such as plastic, aluminum, glass, cardboard, and newspapers. Instructions are available at each station.

 

Barrier Gates
Open the barrier using the access card you received at check-in.
Open between 23:30–06:30.

 

Bus Connections
Bus connections are available 500 meters from the campsite. Buses run year-round to destinations including Varberg, Falkenberg, and Ullared. Download the Hallandstrafiken app for timetables or ask us at reception.

 

Shop
The service shop is open during the spring and summer seasons. It is gradually stocked during spring to offer a full range during the summer season.

 

Defibrillator
A defibrillator is available at the reception.

 

Fire Extinguishers
Fire extinguishers are placed throughout the campsite (see the campsite map). Please locate your nearest extinguisher in case of emergency.

 

Service Buildings
During the summer season, we have three service buildings open on the campsite. Here you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable stay – fully equipped kitchens, laundry facilities, showers and toilets, accessible toilets, dog showers, tent rooms, and baby changing rooms. During the winter season, one service building remains open with shared facilities for men and women and the same high standard of comfort.

 

Service Card
At check-in, you will receive an access/service card. These can be loaded with money and used for services such as washing machines (showers are free and do not require a card).

 

Waste Disposal Station
Chemical toilet disposal is available at service buildings 3 and 4 on the campsite.

 

Bikes & Pedal Cars
Bikes and pedal cars can only be rented during the summer season. Rentals are available at the reception during opening hours. Pedal cars may only be used within the campsite area.

 

WiFi
WiFi is available in limited areas of the campsite.

 

Opening Hours
First Camp Björkäng – Varberg is open year-round. Other facilities such as the bistro and shop have seasonal opening hours.
