Varberg is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the whole of Sweden, and it’s not hard to understand why! Expansive sandy beaches make for gloriously lazy summer days, while the beautiful bays in the area are perfect for windsurfing. This destination has activities that are guaranteed to provide a great holiday experience for campers of all ages. Choose whether you want to play football, boules or minigolf. Or why not settle the argument about whose turn it is to do the washing up by arranging a loser-does-the-dishes sporting pentathlon! During the summer period, the campsite has workout sessions, supervised activities in our popular Kids Club, and evening entertainment to make the lovely summer evenings even more enjoyable.
Beach and swimming
It’s not hard to understand why Varberg is a clear summer favorite among vacationers. The area around the city has wonderfully clean bathing water and plenty of lovely beaches to enjoy picnics, salty swims, and sunny hours during the summer. From the campsite, it’s just a few meters to the beautiful sandy beach, which is also a paradise for kite-surfing enthusiasts and families with children.
Tip! Make it a habit to check the bathing water quality before it’s time to swim. You will find all the information you need here.
Here are 5 tips for beautiful beaches in and around Varberg:
- Björkäng: Right by the campsite, you’ll find a lovely beach and bathing area, just a few meters away.
- Getterön: Choose from several wonderful bathing bays on the same island! You can opt for sandy beaches, rocky shores, piers, and small cliffs perfect for crab fishing.
- Kärradal: Only 200 meters from our other Varberg campsite, First Camp Kärradal – Varberg, you’ll find long, shallow, child-friendly beaches. There are also cliffs and a pier for those who prefer diving into the blue waters.
- Bua: At the Bua bathing area, you can choose between sandy beaches, cliffs, and bathing piers.
- Espevik: Within walking distance from the beautiful beaches of Kärradal, you’ll find another beach gem with both sandy shores and cliffs.
- Träslövsläge: In Träslövsläge, you’ll discover a wonderful sandy beach with piers. It’s a child-friendly beach with swings, a slide, and a volleyball net
Boule
Who will be the campsite champion? Most have probably played boule at some time in their life and that is not strange at all because the game really is the ultimate summer activity.
Bouncy
Come and bounce on our jumping pillow, sure to be a favourite for guests of all ages! (Show caution and make sure children are accompanied by an adult).
Entertainment
Between weeks 27–32, we invite you to fantastic camping evenings with quiz nights and bingo twice a week. Sing along, shout “BINGO!” and enjoy a lovely evening together with family and fellow campers. The activities are, of course, included in the price when you book.

Family activities
During weeks 27–32, we invite you to enjoy family activities at the campsite, where togetherness and movement take centre stage. Children, teenagers, and adults can join playful competitions, ball games, and other fun activities. Football field
Challenge the family to a football match, or practice your skills and tricks on the campsite football field. Or why not gather a group of new camping friends and play together! If there are enough of you, perhaps you can arrange a fun football tournament?
Kids club
Play, have fun and make new camping besties at Yessi Club! Between weeks 27–32, we invite you to enjoy lots of fun kids’ club activities here at the campsite. Our lucky mascot Yessi joins every activity, spreading laughter, joy and plenty of magical hugs. All activities are included in the price when you book. A summer holiday you’ll never forget!
Live music
What sets the mood better than live music on a warm summer evening? During weeks 27–32, local live bands and singer-songwriters provide entertainment two evenings per week. From sing-alongs and spontaneous dancing to laid-back tunes accompanying a relaxed evening in good company – anything can happen.
Mini golf
The campsite has a miniature golf course, great for everyone in the family. This is a very popular activity, so why not challenge your family or friends to see who becomes champion of the miniature golf course?
Pedel car
Rent a bike or a bike car with us and go on an adventure!
Playground
Younger guests will find plenty to keep them entertained at the campsite playground, where many hours of fun and games are guaranteed!
Rent a bicycle
Experience the beautiful surroundings by bike. Perfect if you want to go on a fun excursion on your own or with your family. Why not bring a picknick to enjoy in the stunning nature and the open landscape? Rent your bicycle via the campsite activity centre.
Wood-fired sauna
Breathe deep, sit back and enjoy a soothing soak in the wood-burning sauna. Spend some time relaxing on your own, or bring someone along for company. This is an easy way to make a great day even better, and it also does the trick for both body and soul!
