One of Sweden’s best beaches – Tylösand

From Karlstorp, you’re just a short trip from Tylösand – one of Sweden’s most famous and loved beaches. Here you’ll find four kilometres of soft sand, salty dips in the sea, and that perfect summer vibe!

Golf at its best

Love golf? Then you’re in the right place. Close to Karlstorp you’ll find both Halmstad Golf Club and Flygstaden Golf Club – two courses that attract everyone from pros to happy holiday swingers.

Hiking with sea, forest and views

Around Karlstorp there are plenty of lovely trails for anyone who enjoys lacing up their hiking boots. A real top tip is Prince Bertil’s Trail – a well-known route that takes you through coastal scenery, forest and cliffs, with several great stops along the way.

Fancy a day trip that feels like stepping straight into a nature film? Hop on a boat from Torekov or Båstad to Hallands Väderö. You’ll find an unspoilt island with crystal-clear water, lovely swimming coves, and hiking trails through beautiful scenery. Keep an eye out for seals – they love Väderö too!

Halmstad Castle

Take a trip into town and stroll along the Nissan river to Halmstad Castle. This royal residence from the 1600s is a perfect spot for a cultural pause right in the city. In summer, you can join guided tours and hear more about the castle’s history.

Ready for some speed and fresh air? From Karlstorp it’s easy to get to both Plönninge MTB Park and the Haverdal Nature Reserve. You’ll find everything from smooth, beginner-friendly loops to more challenging sections – always with nature as your best riding buddy.

The Kattegattleden trail

The Kattegattleden passes through Halmstad and is a real dream if you love cycling by the sea. The route stretches 390 kilometres along the coast, but you don’t have to ride it all – just pick a stage that suits how you’re feeling that day and enjoy the views, the stops, and that wonderful two-wheeled freedom.

Gekås Ullared

When the shopping mood hits, Gekås is a must. It’s Scandinavia’s largest department store, with around 44,500 square metres packed with everything from clothes and home finds to toys and snacks. There are also several places to eat, so you can easily make a full day trip out of it.

Want to swim in more ways than just the sea? Then Simstadion Brottet is a great choice – an outdoor pool right by the beach with a lovely seaside feel, and sometimes even concerts. For indoor fun, Halmstad Arena Bad is perfect: one of the biggest and most popular adventure water parks in southern Sweden.

Inland you’ll find meadows, forests and loads of opportunities for outdoor adventures. Keen anglers can try their luck in the Nissan and Fylleån rivers (salmon and trout!), or in nearby lakes where perch, pike and rainbow trout bite.

Here you can enjoy exciting exhibitions ranging from classic Halland artists to contemporary art. The museum also has a café/restaurant with a lovely view over the water!
