Here, you’ll have the entire manor to yourselves, complete with a grand park and a private pier that stretches out into Lake Vänern. When you rent Presterud Herrgård, you enjoy exclusive access to both the house and the park. The bride and groom – or the hosts – stay in the manor’s wedding suite on the second floor, while a marshal’s suite is located on the ground floor. Guests can easily stay at the nearby campsite, just a few steps away from the festivities.

 

A Brief History of Presterud

Presterud is mentioned as early as the 16th-century land registers but became a manor in the mid-1700s under Lady Clara Lysell. The stately building you see today was erected in 1787 by merchant Lars Rudman and has since had many owners and purposes – from a forestry school in the 19th century to an officers’ mess for the regiment during the 20th century.

When the regiment was decommissioned in 2004, the property was taken over by the Municipality of Kristinehamn, and since 2010, the manor has been owned and managed together with the campsite. After careful renovation and restoration, Presterud has once again become a natural choice for weddings, christenings, graduation parties, conferences, and other special occasions.
