Don’t forget your camera

Your camera can capture colours and details that aren’t always visible to the naked eye. Turn off the flash and use a long exposure when photographing.

Get a front-row seat to the Northern Lights ✨

Head north to northern Sweden, where dark evenings, wide-open landscapes and a northern climate create great opportunities to watch the Northern Lights dance across the sky. Here are three destinations we especially recommend.

Ansia – Lycksele

Northern Lights by the Ume River

Stay surrounded by the nature of northern Sweden, with the Ume River close by. When darkness falls, simply wrap up warm and turn your eyes to the sky. You might just see the Northern Lights dancing above you.

Arcus – Luleå

Northern Lights evenings by the coast

On Sweden’s northern coast, wide-open skies and great opportunities for seeing the Northern Lights await. On a clear evening, the sky can put on an incredible show right above the campsite.

Björknäs – Boden

Far up north

In Boden, dark winter evenings go hand in hand with good chances of seeing the Northern Lights. Head away from the brightest lights and let the sky provide the evening’s entertainment.

The magical colours of the Northern Lights

Did you know…? ✨

The Northern Lights can be so much more than green. When conditions are just right, the sky can also glow pink, purple and red. And sometimes your phone camera can capture colours that are harder to see with the naked eye.

No two displays of the Northern Lights are ever exactly the same – their colour, shape and intensity can change from one moment to the next. So if you see them, enjoy the moment!
