Welcome to First Camp Haganäset – Charlottenberg, a scenic campsite on the shimmering shores of Lake Bysjön in the heart of western Värmland. Whether you’re after an active family holiday, slow days by the water or a handy base for day trips in Sweden and Norway, you’ll find it here.
Haganäset offers spacious pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents. Many are right by the water – perfect for a morning dip or a paddle. Staying longer? We also offer seasonal pitches in both summer and winter. If you prefer a cabin, choose from cosy camping cabins to larger options with that holiday-home feel.
Kids can run free on the playground with a climbing pyramid, jumping pillow and swings. When the sun warms up, the gently shelving beach is ideal for a full day by the lake. After your adventures, unwind in the campsite restaurant with lake views.
Want to explore more? Rent a canoe or kayak at reception and head out on sparkling Bysjön, or cycle along the lovely local trails. With Charlottenberg just minutes away you’ve got shopping, restaurants and culture close at hand – and Norway is only a short drive across the border.
Look forward to a calm, friendly camping break for the whole family, with the lake as your neighbour and Värmland’s nature on your doorstep. A warm welcome to Haganäset!
Here you’ll find handy practical info for your stay – from Wi-Fi and the dump station to the nearest defibrillator. You’ll also find our general house rules to help everyone enjoy their holiday.
Opening hours
First Camp Haganäset – Charlottenberg is open all year. Activities, restaurant and shop have seasonal hours.
Barrier gate
Open the gate with the access card you received at check-in. The gate is open 07–23; after that, quiet hours apply out of respect for you camping neighbors.
Waste & recycling
We work actively to reduce our impact. Please sort plastics, aluminium, glass, cardboard and newspapers at the recycling points. Instructions are posted at each station.
Defibrillator (AED)
Available at reception. In an emergency, call 112.
Drinking Water
Water taps with drinking water are available throughout the campsite (see map). The drinking water has a high fluoride content, which helps prevent tooth decay. However, it should not be given in larger amounts to children under six months of age.
Dump station
Disposal for portable tanks is available in both service buildings. Fixed-tank emptying is by the motorhome area. See the site map for exact locations.
Wi-Fi
Free Wi-Fi is available in selected areas. Speeds may be limited at peak times.
Fire extinguishers
Placed throughout the site (see map). Note the closest extinguisher to your location.
EV charging
Chargers are by the main car park (see map). Payment with access card.
Pet-friendly
Pets are welcome but must be kept on a lead. Dogs are not allowed on the bathing beach, in the service buildings, the shop, or the restaurant. A designated dog bathing area is located at the canoe launch on the west side of the campsite, and a dog shower is available in Service House Haga.
Hot Water in Service Buildings
At Haganäset, the same hot water solution applies as in previous seasons. You will receive a key card that you can top up yourself, allowing you to decide how much hot water you want to use during your stay. Hot water is available in the service buildings and runs through a central system adapted to the existing pipes and technology on site. The showers are equipped with timers and automatically turn off after a set time. In the kitchens, you’ll find hot water taps for dishwashing and cooking. The pipes may have their limits – but luckily, that doesn’t apply to the memories you create here!
Heating in cabins
Controlled via a thermostat. If it feels too warm, don’t open doors/windows – lower the thermostat instead. Contact reception if you need assistance.]
