Visit the city of Luleå

Luleå is an exciting city with beautiful nature, history, interesting culture and sports events. For those looking for adventure and day excursions, there is so much to experience all year round. In Luleå there are three shopping malls, Smedjan Galleria, Strand Galleria and Shopping Galleria are the city’s malls. The latter was world-unique when it was built in the 50’s when it was the world’s first shopping center indoors. Smedjan is Luleå’s largest mall with about 30 stores. In the city center you will also find the city’s shopping streets which gives you total of over 300 stores to explore.

Gammelstad Church town

The church town of Gammelstad has been on the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites since 1996. This is Norrland’s biggest medieval stone church which is today one of the world’s best conserved churches with 408 church cottages around the church. The church was built in the 15th century and the tower in the 19th century.

Norrbotten Railway Museum

Visit one of Sweden’s largest railway museums, the Norrbotten Railway Museum. Located in an old industrial area in Karlsvik, 50 meters from First Camp Arcus-Luleå, you will find the museum where you can see and go by car and car from different periods of time.

During the summer, timetable museum trains run on Gammelstad-Karlsvikshytan Railway, fun for both big and small train fans. In the vicinity of the museum there are several other attractions and activities that can also appeal to the whole family.

Luleå House of Technology

An obvious favourite with our visitors is the House of Technology which has a science center, a world of technology from the various industries in Norrbotten; an exciting place for all curious children to experiment with science. There are open workshops designed to fit a family audience where adults and children can participate together.

Hägnan Museum

Visit the culture-historical museum Hägnan – a living “past of time” that conveys the cultural heritage of the region. The museum is open daily from mid June to mid August and offers lots of activities and arrangements for the whole family. In the area there are also the farmers’ animals, farms and café.

Arcus Fyndmarknad

Finally, it’s time for Sweden’s largest bargain market with over 10,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors! The bargain market is held in Arcushallen across the road from the campsite. Be sure to find used furniture and gadgets of all kinds. Stay at the campsite, so do not let go parking!

The experiences await at Kulturens Hus

Kulturens Hus is an art gallery, tourist office, conference rooms, concert halls, café and restaurant under one roof. Here at 14000 square meters there are plenty of exhihibitions and happenings all year round. Kulturens Hus is one of Norrbotten’s most visited places. Located at Luleå’s northern port you can enjoy an unbeatable view and beautiful summer nights with the midnight sun.

The art gallery displays art with great variety, different expressions, international and national artists. Most often, contemporary art is displayed here. In three halls with a total exhibition space of 500 square meters, you will be inspired and get new impressions. There is also a studio for those who want to try to be creative themselves, both for children and adults. The concert hall features theater, concerts, dance and music performances.
