In the heart of Hallingdal’s trading hub, you’ll find First Camp Gol – Hallingdal, a destination known for its wide range of activities all year round. The river winding through the valley, surrounded by majestic mountains and breathtaking landscapes, offers unforgettable nature experiences for the whole family! Here, you can hike in the mountains, explore the surroundings by bike, or go fishing in the Hallingdal River. But that’s not all — the destination also features Hallingstampen Outdoor Pool, complete with a fun water slide that’s a big hit during the summer season!

 

☀️ Summer News from Gol:
On June 21, 83 new spots for caravans, motorhomes, and tents opened in the lower part of the campsite. Fresh green lawns, easy access to fishing in the Hallingdal River, a playground, newly renovated service buildings, and a restaurant with outdoor seating make it the perfect summer getaway.

In July, Hallingstampen Outdoor Pool officially opened, offering a lovely space for relaxation and a small café serving light meals and snacks. The outdoor pool is now closed for the 2025 season, but will reopen for the summer season of 2026.

 

At the campsite, you can stay in cozy cabins or apartments, or set up your caravan, motorhome, or tent on a variety of pitches. Wherever you stay, you’re always close to nature — and several of the cabins feature beautiful wooden interiors for that true cabin feeling.

 

Located right in the heart of Norway, Gol is the perfect starting point for all kinds of adventures. The town center is just a few minutes away, offering charming shops and restaurants. Families love visiting Tropicana Water Park, and if you’re into skiing, you’ll find several ski resorts nearby — including Skagahøgdi Ski Center, just a 10-minute drive from the campsite.

Here you’ll find some practical information that might be useful during your stay with us — everything from WiFi and waste disposal to where you can find the nearest defibrillator. You’ll also find our general campsite guidelines, created to make sure every guest enjoys a comfortable and pleasant stay.

 

Waste Sorting
At First Camp Gol – Hallingdal, we sort waste into glass/metal, fluorescent tubes, and disposable grills/combustible waste. We’re continuously working to expand our recycling options even further.

 

Barrier Gates
There are barrier gates on both sides of the campsite.

 

Shop / Kiosk
Open during the reception’s opening hours.

 

Staffed Destination
Our friendly staff is available during reception opening hours.

 

Electric Vehicle Charging
Electric cars can be charged at Shell, located just 600 meters away along Highway 7. You’ll also find several charging stations in Gol town center, about 2.5 km from the campsite.

 

Defibrillator
Available at the reception.

 

Public Transport
We’re located about 1.5 km from Gol Train Station. There’s also a bus stop right by the campsite entrance, though buses do not run very frequently.

 

Bistro
Enjoy our cozy bistro with both indoor and outdoor seating. We serve rustic, simple dishes — you can view the menu here: bistro menu.
During the summer season, you can also enjoy light meals and snacks at Hallingstampen Outdoor Pool — see the street food menu here.

 

Service Buildings
At First Camp, hot water for showers is always free. Still, we encourage all guests to think of the environment — please shower responsibly.

 

Waste Disposal Station
Located near the service buildings and clearly marked on the map provided at check-in.

Free internet access is available throughout the campsite, though signal strength may vary depending on your location.
