Bogense City

Bogense has been a market town for over 700 years and is Funen’s smallest of its kind.

The city’s location in the north-west corner of Funen, right next to the water, was sufficiently isolated for it to avoid the rapid development that industrialization brought about in so many other places in the country.

Bogense’s old town is therefore like a living museum and the special market town environment is well preserved, which you quickly find out when you walk around the town.

Here you find idyllic old houses and merchant farms. Historical icons are the square and the old cluster houses, but also the old harbour.

The city has a rich commercial life with real old-fashioned market trade, a fabulous beach and the largest yachting harbor on Funen is also found here.

Throughout the summer, Bogense offers many exciting events. For example, don’t miss Gl. Torvedag, Bogense By Night and the many pedestrian street events with various entertainment. Distance from the reception to the city center is 750 meters and to the nearest supermarket 350 meters.
