Nestled beautifully at the foot of Lifjell in the heart of Telemark, Bø is a year-round destination brimming with charm and adventure. Here, you can stay comfortably in spacious cabins, modern apartments, cozy “hobbit houses” (we like to call them pods), or small cabins. Of course, there’s also plenty of room for tents, caravans, and motorhomes.
In Bø, there’s always something to do — all year round! Whether you love water, mountains, or culture, you’ll find a wide variety of activities for both kids and adults.
❄️⛷️ Winter Magic
When winter wraps the landscape in a white blanket, Lifjell becomes a paradise for ski lovers. With two lifts, four slopes, and a dedicated area for children and beginners called Vinterland, you’ll find fun for everyone. There’s also a ski and snowboard school, equipment rental, and two slope-side eateries serving hot meals, drinks, and snacks. Just 500 meters from the camping area, you’ll find Bø Sommarland, a water park packed with amazing attractions for all ages. Get ready for thrilling water slides and action-packed fun for the whole family!
Høyt & Lavt Climing Park
At Høyt & Lavt Bø in Telemark, the whole family can enjoy exciting treetop adventures! Test your balance, feel the rush of achievement, and glide through the air on zip lines — all in safe surroundings surrounded by stunning nature. With courses of varying difficulty, there’s fun and challenge for everyone, regardless of age or experience. Learn more here.
If you love the great outdoors, explore scenic hiking trails around Lifjell, along the eighth wonder — the Telemark Canal — or through the charming Fruit Village of Gvarv. Animal lovers can enjoy unique experiences like alpaca walks or horseback rides on Icelandic horses.
Many visitors return to Bø in Telemark year after year — drawn by the breathtaking surroundings and all the fun activities at our campsite. In summer, we offer our own activity program, pedal car rentals, and a swimming pool.

Staff on Site
Our destination is staffed during opening hours.
Electric Car Charging
Electric cars can be charged at our two charging stations, provided by Ladell, located on the end wall of the Kaptein apartments. Additional charging points are available in the town center, about 2.5 km away.
Waste Sorting
Bø – Telemark sorts waste into the following categories: glass/metal, fluorescent tubes, disposable grills/combustible waste, food waste, residual waste, plastic, cardboard, and paper.
Additional Information
Events: The destination occasionally hosts various groups. At the end of June (dates vary each year), KRIK organizes a large event just outside the area. Participants are often out and about in Telemark for activities, but there may be gatherings of young people at the campsite before and after these excursions.
Shop/Kiosk
Located in the reception area and open during reception hours.
Barrier Gate
There is no barrier gate at the campsite.
Green Key Certified
The destination received its Green Key certification in autumn 2024.
Climbing Park – Høyt & Lavt
For questions, you can contact the climbing park at +47 61 02 44 56 during opening hours, or the campsite reception at +47 35 95 20 12 between 08:00 and 16:00. You can also check their website for day ticket prices.
Public Transport
We are located about 4 km from Bø Station, which offers both bus and train connections. There is a bus stop right outside the main entrance of the campsite. Search for “Bø Camping” and “Bø Station, Midt-Telemark.” Timetables can be found at Farte.no.
Defibrillator
Available in the reception area.
Service Facilities
At First Camp, hot water for showers is included at no extra cost. However, we encourage guests to be mindful of the environment — please shower responsibly.
Waste Disposal Station
Located near the service buildings and marked on the map you receive at check-in.
