A fifteen minute drive from Torekov campsite takes you to Båstad center with shopping, a vibrant nightlife and culture. Båstad is the largest city in Bjärehalvön and has a beautiful church, the church of Mary, from the 1400s. With a long history behind it, Båstad has picked up from both war with Danes and big fires to become one of Sweden’s most visited summer resorts. The houses at Agardsgatan were the only ones still standing from the fire in the 1870s so it is worth a walk along that street to see the nice, wooden houses and the roses.
Båstad is right by the sea and the harbor is very popular. There are lively restaurants, some big boats and the nice Skansenbadet. Here in Båstad you will also find Sweden’s tennis center with tennis museum and Swedish Open as well as the adventure boats Stora Blå.

The gardens were designed by Rudolf Abelin and are built in a loop which takes you through various parts of the garden. The grounds consist of seven period gardens set around the main villa which have a unique charm and beautiful setting. Norrviken is 1 mile east of the campsite.
