En vill vara inne, en vill vara ute. En är hungrig, en är törstig. En fryser, en svettas. Ibland känns det omöjligt att göra alla nöjda. Men inte på First Camp! Här har vi garderat oss mot sura miner med aktiviteter som gör alla barn glada, både badkrukor och blötdjur.
Astrid’s Bullerbyn
Did you dream as a child about living in Sörgården, Mellangården or Norrgården and playing with Lisa, Anna, Lasse or Bosse? Around 80km from the campsite on Gunnarsö you will find Sevedstorp between Mariannelund and Vimmerby. It was here in “Bullerbyn” that Astrid Lindgren had her thoughts when she wrote about the children in Bullerbyn. Astrid’s father Samuel August grew up in Mellangården and owned some of the farms in Sevedstorp for a while.
At Sevedstorp there are great spaces for the children to play and let the imagination flow. There are also horses, cows, rabbits and sheep. Cafe Sörgården serves coffee, waffles, cheese cakes, sandwiches, buns etc. If you look into cafeét there is also a small shop with clothes, crafts, souvenirs etc.
Astrid Lindgren’s Theme Park
From First Camp, one can drive to Astrid Lindgren’s Theme Park in Vimmerby and visit Pippi Longstocking, have a peed in the wood shed and feel how it would have been to be as small as Nils Karlsson-Pyssling. This has been the stage that has been used for settings in the theatre, song and dance several times a day during the summer. Bring your own picnic or have a meal at one of the park’s restaurants or cafes.

Ölands Zoo and Amusement Park
At Öland Zoo and Amusement Park there are activities for the whole family and it is Sweden’s largest combined animal and entertainment park. The park is only an hour away by car from First Camp Gunnarsö-Oskarshamn, making it a fun day trip! The park also won the award for the tourist destination of the year 2017.
Whether you are looking for excitement or just want to enjoy nature and the awesome animals, the park is absolutely right during the summer. Here is a big zoo, a cool amusement park with close to 20 carousels with free rides and a Aqualand with a Pirate theme.
Visit the zoo on Öland
Not much can be compared with a day at the zoo. Watching animals from all corners of the world is a fun experience for both young and old. Here you can see tigers, lions, zebras, snakes, alligators, raccoons, gibbons and chimpanzees. The zoo also works actively with many organizations to conserve many endangered species.
Aqualand / Pirate Island
In the large pool there is a pirate fort in the middle with six water slides in different shapes.
Amusement Park
At the amusement park there is everything you would expect from a classic amusement park. Among other things you will find several fun carousels, lotteries with candy, chocolate wheels, air rifles and much more.
