A family excursion to Fårup Sommerland
Gather your family members together, pack the car and head off for a great day in Fårup Sommerland. Just half an hour’s drive from the camp site, you will find the best amusement park in the North, with activities for all the family. Fårup Sommerland has an aqua park, entertainment for the adventurous, and a children’s ‘Tivoli’ for the younger members of the family. When you need to replenish energy levels, there is a wealth of eateries as well as various snack bars.
Experiences around and about – for children
Remember to bring bikes if you and your family want to explore North Jutland. The countryside is sure to surprise you. Roll around on the massive sand dunes at Råbjerg Mile, where you will feel dwarfed by the vastness of the dunes. Can you climb a dune?
North Sea Oceanarium
Barely half an hour from First Camp Råbjerg Mile – Skagen lies the largest aquarium in Northern Europe, at Hirsthals. It is certainly worth a visit: young and old alike will learn a lot from it.
This is a place to encounter life under the surface of the North Sea – at close quarters! Yes, you can even touch the fish. The Oceanarium has an impressive 4.5 million litres of water and 2-3,000 fish; a sealarium with daily feeding times; inspiring exhibitions; and stories of the open seas for the whole family.
Come and wonder at the way a shoal of fish move – it’s mesmerising!
