Linköping is often called “Aviationcity Linkoping” and rightly so! Many Swedish aircrafts were developed right here in Linköping and the city is thus a central location of Sweden’s aviation history. Even today Swedish aircrafts are developed here. The Air Force Museum, which was named as Museum of the Year 2011 in Sweden calls Linköping its hometown. You will learn a lot and the tragic story of the Swedish DC-3, which a Soviet fighterjet shot down in 1952, will not only be gripping infotainment for aviation buffs. This exciting museum is well worth a visit for young and old!
