Falun Motorhome Stopover
Welcome to Falun Motorhome Stopover!
Parking spaces are located inside a fenced mining area on a hard gravel surface. There is a payment station at the stopover. Upon payment, you will receive a card to use for the entry boom gate and the adjacent service building.
The service building has showers and toilets, including one that is wheelchair accessible. There is also a tap for filling fresh water at the service station. There are no electricity hook-ups.
Checking in and out
Check-in: from 12:00 noon (open 24-hours).
Check-out: no later than 12:00 noon.
The Falun Motorhome Stopover is open all year round.
Booking and rates
You can book and pay directly at the payment station by the stopover entrance. Spaces cannot be booked online.
Rate per 24-hour period: SEK 195 incl. motorhome parking, access to the service building, and fresh water filling.
The grey water and wastewater disposal facility can be found at First Camp Lugnet-Falun, located approx. 3 km from the motorhome stopover. This is closed from October to April.
From the stopover site near the Falu mining area, it is just a ten-minute walk through the old mine worker district of Elsborg, with its 17th century buildings, to the picturesque town centre of Falun, with opportunities for shopping and entertainment.
The Falu Mine was once Europe’s largest copper mine, and was referred to as Sweden’s treasure chest. Today, the mining area is one of the most popular destinations in Dalarna, with exciting activities both above and below the earth. The mine is open to visitors all year round.
